1. Who we are
Tree Quest is provided by NyS Developer Studio ("we", "us", or "our"). If you have privacy questions or want to exercise your privacy rights, contact us at nysdeveloperstudio@gmail.com.
2. Information we process
Depending on the features you use, Tree Quest may process the following:
- Local game data: campaign progress, completed levels, scores, timers, settings, assistance inventory, ad-free entitlement, and unfinished puzzle state. This data is stored locally on your device using the platform's local storage.
- Firebase Authentication data: the app creates an anonymous Firebase account so online features can work without requiring your name or email address. If you choose to link Google, Firebase and Google process the account and authentication information needed for that sign-in.
- Profile information: an automatically generated or user-selected display name and, if you provide it, a country code.
- Online game and competition data: display name, player identifier, level results, scores, elapsed time, counted levels, hints or reveals used, lives lost, and submission timestamps. Competition leaderboard entries may be visible to other players by display name.
- Daily puzzle data: puzzle documents and the date needed to provide the daily puzzle feature.
- Advertising and consent data: Google Mobile Ads may process advertising, device, and consent-related information when ads are requested. Whether personalized advertising is available depends on your consent choices and applicable law.
- Purchase information: the relevant app store processes payment details for an ad-free purchase. We receive purchase status or entitlement information, not your full payment-card details.
3. What we do not currently use
The current version of Tree Quest does not intentionally use Google Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring, push notifications, contact lists, photos, microphone recordings, or precise location data.
4. Why we use information
- to save and restore your local game progress;
- to provide profiles, daily puzzles, leaderboards, and competition rewards;
- to authenticate requests and protect online services from abuse;
- to show optional rewarded ads and interstitial ads where enabled;
- to process and restore an ad-free entitlement; and
- to respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.
5. Service providers
We use third-party providers to operate features of the game, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, Google Sign-In, Google Mobile Ads, and the relevant app store. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies:
6. Advertising choices
Where required, the game uses Google's consent flow before requesting ads. You can review available privacy choices from the app's privacy or consent settings. Turning off personalized advertising may not remove ads; it may change the type of advertising shown. An ad-free purchase, where available, suppresses interstitial ads according to the purchase terms.
7. Storage, retention, and deletion
Local game data remains on your device until you delete the app, clear its storage, or use an in-app reset feature if one is provided. Online profile, authentication, leaderboard, and competition data may remain as needed to provide the relevant service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain competition records.
You may request access to or deletion of online personal data by contacting nysdeveloperstudio@gmail.com. Please include enough information for us to identify the relevant account; do not send passwords or payment-card information. Deleting an anonymous Firebase account may remove access to data that has not been linked to a permanent sign-in method.
8. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for the size and nature of the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live, subject to their applicable safeguards and legal obligations.
9. Children's privacy
Tree Quest is not intentionally directed at children under the minimum age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or request a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also contact your local data protection authority. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game, its providers, or applicable law changes. We will update the effective date above and publish the revised version at this location. Your continued use of Tree Quest after an update means the revised policy applies to future use.
